We are now looking for a park engineer who wants to contribute with specialist expertise and take a strategic overall responsibility for issues related to the operation, management, and long-term development of the municipality's parks and green areas.

About the position

The position of park engineer is an independent specialist role with a clear focus on commissioning, analysis, and decision support. You contribute with operational and management expertise in the community building process with the aim that the municipality's parks and green areas are planned, managed, and developed in a long-term, sustainable, and cost-effective manner.

The role involves close collaboration with several functions within the municipality and participation in both ongoing operations and development projects.

Responsibilities

As a park engineer, you will among other things:

  • Be responsible for the work with invasive species, including ordering, follow-up, and evaluation of measures
  • Contribute with operational and management perspectives in the community building process
  • Prepare referral responses and service statements, for example related to detailed plans, from a park and operational perspective
  • Compile annual reinvestment needs in collaboration with the Community Building Department, production leaders, and other relevant parties
  • Participate in various projects and development work
  • Other tasks within the area of responsibility as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

You belong to an engaged workgroup with a good collaborative culture, where knowledge exchange and collegial support are a natural part of everyday life. The role involves close collaboration with production leaders and other key individuals within the municipality, and you report to the unit manager.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with solid knowledge in parks, green infrastructure, and sustainable community development, who thrives in a strategic role with significant personal responsibility.

We see that you have:

  • A university degree in a relevant field for the position, such as landscape engineer, landscape architect, gardener, or equivalent education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience in park and green space maintenance and/or have worked in a commissioning function within a relevant area.
  • Experience working in park or outdoor environment management, preferably in municipal operations.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
  • Driving license B (including automatic)
  • Ability to work independently, structured, and solution-oriented.

Meritorious

  • Knowledge of and experience working with invasive species
  • Knowledge of the community building process and detailed planning work
  • Experience in reinvestment planning or commissioning role
  • Familiarity with working in collaborative projects with multiple stakeholders
